Ushi Shabu Shabu

Excellent dining experience with a focus on customer service. Server named Izilda was fantastic and ensured everything was proper. Dishes cleared, soup and drinks refilled and table wiped down before dessert! Even a wet nap promptly presented at the end of the meal! Definitely not the typical hot pot place! Quality of the meat is great as was the premium desserts of shaved mango ice cream and chocolate mousse. Its clear this place is distinguishing itself as a top tier dining experience. Im already looking forward to return!

Been here 3 times, twice for AYCE dinner and once for set lunch. Food was plenty on all occasions, this most recent one it wasn't running full house on a Wednesday night and service was quick, staff were pretty helpful too. I particular love the prawns which were really fresh and sweet. We were able to enjoy our hot pot in a slow pace and the 2 hrs passed without us noticing. We took the Classic beef option and 3 of us plus tax n tips came up to around $150.

I came to Ushi Shabu Shabu on Saturday night November around 8 pm. My partner and I waited a ridiculous 30 minutes seated just to be served with the menu choices and our broth, while other patrons received much quicker service. As someone of a darker ethnicity, it seemed like service was more prompt for local Asian patrons. It was a bit busy but still had empty seats - however we were seated near the service area, where there was noise from cutlery being rolled up - made the experience much less enjoyable. The flavorful broth and diverse menu, especially the meat options, were highlights. You sit down, choose your broth and size and then your level of meats and veggies. After the broth you get a QR code to order online the rest of your meal. Without the waiter Liam, I would have left after 15 mins of waiting. His exceptional service is one of the main reasons I rate this place a 3-star.

I chose the a la carte option for lunch special. Meat quality was good and food came quickly. Plenty of noodle and vegetable provided. Each person had their own broth, and the broth was decent. There was also a dessert provided at the end - some sort of chocolate mousse (but unfortunately was not good at all). Overall, value for food was good. There is also a bar for sauces in which you can make yourself. However this was not pointed out to us - thankfully I was dining with folks who had been here before and know about it. Servers should point that out as it changes the dining experience. Water was refilled quickly but overall there wasn’t too much guidance from servers or the menu. May be a bit confusing to navigate for first time patrons.

Friendly experience! I booked the wrong date for a table of 4 for Saturday dinner. It was the busiest time of the day. No available table but a young and beautiful lady reassured us will try her best to give me one in 20 mins. Finally, we can enjoy a great hotpot dinner with fresh and delicious food. The classic beef set was good enough for us. Beef is super yummy and the I love the short rib which is soft and tender. Efficient and warm-hearted service Is the most unforgettable part of it! Highly recommended!

Amazing broth, great food, but the service was lacking. To start with, I enjoyed the all-you-can-eat format. They have 3 levels of menu and while we went for the cheapest option (called “Classic Beef”), I found that it has more than enough options of meat, seafood, appetizers, and dessert. The soup base costs extra and we (party of 7) tried 4 different soup bases, and they were all amazing! I liked them a lot more than typical hot pot soup bases. However, it was a bit annoying that the cost of the soup base isn’t indicated on the main menu. The restaurant has very interesting décor, with “crop” hanging upside down from the ceiling and a Japanese garden/tea design at the entrance to the washroom. It also uses robot delivery, but it seemed a bit useless for us as we were seated at the far end of the restaurant atop a set of stairs, which the robots can’t climb... One aspect that left an unsatisfactory mark in our experience was that throughout the meal, we didn’t know that there was a sauce/condiments station, and it was not explained to us by the staff members. It turned out that the station was located right beside the entrance, while we were seated all the way at the other end of the restaurant, so we didn’t notice it until we were on our way out…Additionally, it took us a lot of time and waving to finally flag down a staff member to get the bill. They rarely came over to check-in on us. Having robots to deliver food doesn’t mean that you no longer need to pay attention to customers… While I was happy with the food, the service could really be improved.
